Security Protective Coatings, Inc. Rusty metal roof restoration
Typical rusty metal roof before restoration.
All screws are tightened. Any stripped screws are replaced.
The roof is power washed with commercial high pressure 4,000psi pressure washers, using a special 0 degree oscillating orbital tip. This blasts off all loose paint, debris, and rust scale.
Screws and bolt heads are buried in a thick layer of urethane rubber paste. This permanently seals them against leaks.
After all preparations have been completed, a variety of finish coats are applied, depending on building requirements and budget. Coatings range from a low cost fibered asphaltic aluminum, to the premium synthetic rubbers, (acrylic, urethane, silicone) giving the owner many years of reliable warrented service.

Vertical ribs, where ice damming is often a problem, are also sealed with the heavy urethane rubber paste.
Horizontal seams and ridge caps are also sealed with the urethane paste to prevent wind driven rain from being forced inside.
All roof penetrations are completely sealed with a heavy layer of urethane rubber paste to create new rubber flashings.
Crushed or cracked ribs are covered with a self adhesive rubber tape, then sealed with the urethane rubber paste.
After an appropriate primer is applied (where needed) a thick layer of synthetic rubber is applied to the roof.
